Liquid and semi-fluid single-dose packaging

Sachet Filling Machine

Configure a sachet filling and sealing machine around the real product, finished pack, laminate, dose range and accepted output. HIJ reviews product behavior, dosing, web handling, sealing, coding, inspection and FAT evidence as one project scope.

Quick selection answer

A sachet filler must control the complete pack, not only the dose

A roll-fed sachet filling machine forms a pack from flexible web, meters the configured product, seals the sachet, applies the agreed code and cuts or groups the finished format. The useful purchase question is whether one defined configuration can repeatedly deliver acceptable finished sachets with your product and laminate.

Feed

Can the product arrive consistently?

Define supply temperature, mixing, holding, replenishment and any tendency to foam, settle, string or trap air.

Meter

Can the dose be measured and cut off?

Choose the product path, pump and nozzle only after representative trials establish the useful operating window.

Seal

Can the laminate close cleanly?

Keep product out of the seal land and agree how seal appearance, strength or integrity will be evaluated.

Release

Can accepted output be proved?

Count good coded sachets after rejects, stops and interventions—not only empty-web cycles.

Scope boundary: this page covers liquid and semi-fluid sachet projects supported by HIJ's verified application pages. Powder or granule dosing should be treated as a separate technical review rather than assumed from the term “sachet filler.”

Route selector

Choose the pack architecture before choosing a machine

Similar single-dose packs can come from different material paths. Freeze the finished-pack drawing and opening method first, then compare the correct equipment family.

1
Conventional roll-fed sachetThree-side, four-side or another approved flexible format formed, filled and sealed from web.
2
Easy-snap card formatA rigid or semi-rigid card-style single dose with its own forming, scoring, opening and tooling requirements.
3
Plastic ampoule routeA formed cavity or container geometry that should be evaluated against the dedicated ampoule process.
4
Preformed container routeIf the primary pack arrives already formed, the project may need filling and closing rather than roll-fed sachet equipment.

Product-to-dosing fit

Match the filling path to how the real product behaves

A product name or one viscosity value does not define the filler. Product trials should expose feeding, aeration, cut-off, seal contamination and cleaning risks before the pump and nozzle are frozen.

Free-flowing

Serums, oils and suitable liquids

Review small-dose repeatability, dripping, air entry, container compatibility and product migration toward the seal area.

Foaming

Shampoo and selected liquid products

Control product supply, fill profile, headspace and line speed so foam does not compromise dose measurement or sealing.

Viscous

Creams, gels, honey and syrups

Evaluate assisted feed, temperature, trapped air, stringing, nozzle shut-off and the method used to clean product-contact parts.

Trial rule: use a representative production batch and the intended laminate. Water trials can confirm basic movement, but they do not prove dosing or sealing performance for a different product.

Complete operating sequence

Review every station that affects the sellable sachet

A useful supplier proposal names the complete path and the interfaces between stations. Missing details often reappear later as options, manual work or acceptance disputes.

1Unwind

Control the approved web, tension, splice and tracking conditions.

2Register

Align artwork, eye mark, seal area, code and cut position where required.

3Form

Create the agreed folds, lanes or cavities without damaging the laminate.

4Fill

Meter product while controlling drip, stringing, bubbles and seal contamination.

5Seal and code

Apply the approved sealing window and readable variable information.

6Cut and discharge

Separate, count, inspect and route the finished format as specified.

Machine and application evidence

Use images to confirm the route—then prove it with samples

Syrup and condiment single-serve packaging applications
Viscous food products require representative feed and cut-off trials.
Image boundary

A reference image is not the final configuration

Ask which product, pump, lane count, tooling, film and test conditions apply to every demonstration. The approved quotation, drawings and FAT protocol—not a generic image—must define the supplied machine.

Output and price comparison

Compare accepted sachets and itemized scope—not headline numbers

Mechanical cycles do not automatically equal sellable output. Quotation value also depends on what the supplier includes around the base platform.

Output basis

Accepted output

Good coded sachets at discharge after agreed rejects, stops and interventions, using the nominated product, laminate, staffing and run duration.

  • Record total cycles and finished packs separately.
  • Name planned stops and permitted operator actions.
  • Identify the slowest configured station and downstream constraint.
Quotation basis

Itemized project scope

Base platform + product path + dosing + tooling + controls + evidence + delivery/site boundary.

  • Separate included items, options, assumptions and exclusions.
  • State sample, film and trial quantities required from the buyer.
  • Define documents, FAT, installation and training line by line.

FAT and handover

Define what the sachet machine must prove before shipment

An effective FAT connects the approved product and materials to a test method, acceptance rule and retained record. It does not rely on an unloaded demonstration or a generic checklist.

Inputs

Control the sample set

Identify product batch, film lot, artwork, tooling revision, code data and approved reference samples.

Run

Prove normal operation

Agree duration, staffing, replenishment, planned stops, restart conditions and accepted-output target.

Challenges

Test faults and rejects

Challenge selected web, registration, code, temperature, missing-product or reject conditions where applicable.

Records

Retain decision evidence

Keep settings, dose results, seal checks, rejects, waste, stoppages, deviations and final disposition.

Buyer responsibility: supplier documents and FAT records can support qualification. They do not replace the buyer's quality system, product compatibility work, process validation or release decision.

Buyer questions

Sachet filling machine FAQ

What is a sachet filling machine?
A sachet filling machine forms or handles the selected pack, meters the configured product, seals it and prepares the finished sachet for discharge. A roll-fed system may also control registration, coding and cutting. The exact sequence depends on the approved product and sachet design.
Which products can a sachet filler handle?
HIJ's verified application pages cover suitable liquid and semi-fluid products such as serums, lotions, creams, gels, honey, syrups and selected supplements. Suitability depends on flow, foaming, particles, temperature, compatibility, dose and cleaning—not the product name alone.
How do I choose between a standard sachet and an easy-snap card?
Start with the approved consumer pack. A conventional flexible sachet and an easy-snap card use different materials, tooling, opening features and process routes. Send the finished drawing, laminate or card construction, dose and opening requirement before comparing machines.
How should sachet filling machine output be specified?
Specify accepted finished sachets per minute or shift under agreed product, film, staffing, run-duration, reject and downstream conditions. Keep mechanical cycles, total packs and accepted packs as separate recorded values.
What determines sachet filling machine price?
The project price depends on the base platform, product feed and dosing system, number of lanes, format tooling, web and registration controls, coding, inspection, documents, testing, delivery and site-service boundary. Request an itemized quotation rather than an unsupported price range.
What samples are needed for a useful proposal?
Provide representative product, the finished sachet drawing, laminate structure and roll details, artwork or eye-mark position, target dose and test method, output requirement, code, inspection, utilities, documents and downstream interface information.
What should be tested during FAT?
FAT should use agreed product and packaging materials and record dosing, seal or integrity results, dimensions, registration, coding, accepted output, rejects, alarms, stops, interventions, changeover and cleaning access according to the approved protocol.
Can one machine run liquid, cream and honey?
Possibly, but only if the product feed, dosing range, nozzle, contact parts, cleaning plan and sachet tooling cover every approved SKU. Test the most challenging products and state required pumps, change parts, settings and exclusions in the quotation.
